Davis Knocks Out Martin in Eighth Round

Las Vegas, NV - Gervonta Davis successfully defended his WBA lightweight title by knocking out Frank Martin in the eighth round on Saturday night. Davis, who was making his first appearance in the ring since April 2023, dominated the fight from the opening bell and eventually overwhelmed Martin with his power.
Davis started the fight cautiously, but he began to find his rhythm in the middle rounds. He landed several hard shots on Martin, who was game but outmatched. In the eighth round, Davis connected with a devastating left hook that sent Martin crashing to the canvas. Martin was unable to continue, and Davis was declared the winner by knockout.
With the victory, Davis improves to 30-0 with 28 knockouts. Martin, who was previously undefeated, drops to 18-1 with 12 knockouts.
